Cardinals Player Charged For Abusing His Wife and Son

Cardinals Running Back In Trouble for Abusing His Wife and Son

Jonathan Dwyer who is a running back for the Cardinals, is in some trouble. He allegedly head-butted his wife as well as punched her. He allegedly threw a shoe at their infant son and even threatened to commit suicide if she contacted the police.  Talk about a crazy situation. The domestic abuse case had started back in July. The court records showed that Dwyer allegedly tried to kiss his wife and remove her clothing at their apartment in Phoenix. She resisted and even told her husband to stop several times. She even bit his lip to try to get away from him, that is when he allegedly head-butted her.

Court records show that a witness even heard the yelling and they then called the police. When the officers got to the scene, the saw the wife and the young boy (17 months at the time). She had lied to the police and told them she was alone and was “just arguing with a relative over the phone”. However the investigators didn’t fall for it and while they were there investigating they found Dwyer in the bathroom.

The wife left as soon as the police did. She did return after Dwyer supposedly sent her a text saying he would kill himself as well as a picture of a knife. She later told the investigators that Dwyer threatened to kill himself in front of her and their son if she told the police. The following day things got out of hand yet again. Another argument led Dwyer to allegedly punch his wife and throw a show at their son’s stomach. The wife did try to call the police, but Dwyer threw the phone from their second story apartment window.

Witnesses See Wife’s Bruising Face from Cardinals Player’s Abuse

Witnesses say that they did see swelling and bruising on the wife’s face. They even heard her admit that someone had hit her. The wife left Arizona and then reported the alleged assault the Phoenix Police Department. She only felt safe enough to tell after she left Arizona. She even sent the investigators photos of the tore up apartment and the messages from Dwyer.

Cardinals Player, Dwyer was arrested on Wednesday for suspicion of aggravated assault, criminal damage, and preventing someone from calling 911. He, of course, has denied all allegations of physical abuse. He did however admit that he punched the walls in their apartment and then threw his wife’s phone. He was released Thursday morning after bail was posted.

Two People Shot During Domestic Dispute

Police Investigate Domestic Dispute Shooting

Times are hard and relationships are hard. Domestic Dispute’s are happening more and more, and they rarely have a happy ending.  Phoenix Police stay pretty busy with domestic dispute calls, however Sunday’s call was a little different than their normal calls. Phoenix police are now investigating a domestic dispute after two people were found shot inside of a Phoenix home on Sunday.

Phoenix Police Sgt. Steve Martos stated that the Phoenix Officers had responded to a call of a shooting that was near the Camelback Road and 28th Street areas. At the scene, they found a man and woman with gunshot wounds. Both victims seem to be in their forties.

Police Investigating Phoenix Domestic Dispute

Sgt. Martos said that luckily no one else was home so no one else was harmed. However that makes it harder to figure out what happened. Police are not looking for any suspects at this time. Police do believe that this was indeed a domestic violence situation. Sgt. Martos said that the male is more seriously injured condition that the female gunshot victim.

There is no further information at this time, detectives were just getting to the scene at the time the press release was let out.  So if you are going to marry or live with someone, make sure you all get a long first, of course just because you have an argument that is no reason to freaking shoot someone. Hopefully if you’re having problems with a significant other, you work through them a little better than pulling a gun out and shooting one another. I don’t see how that solves anything, other that one or both of you all going to jail, but it’s whatever floats your boat.

Babysitter Arrested for Suspicion of Child Abuse

Babysitter Arrested for Three Counts of Child Abuse

When you ask someone to babysit your children you would expect them to be well taken care of. However, now days it’s pretty hard to tell who is really going to be watching your children and what will happen while they are under someone else’s care. A thirty-nine year old babysitter has been arrested by the Tempe police on the suspicion of three counts of child abuse. There is an ongoing investigation following the death of a fourteen month old little boy. The baby had a broken arm as well as some other injuries, according to the police authorities.

The suspect in this child abuse case is Robert Reynolds. Robert happens to be the boyfriend of the baby’s mother, According to Lt. Mike Pooley from the Tempe Police. The mother left her fourteen month old son, Juantio Valenzuela with Robert on Sunday morning as she left for work that day. Lt. Pooley would not release the mother’s name at this time however he did say that she was a maid at a local motel.

Lt. Pooley’s Statment about the Child Abuse Case

The baby had obvious signs of trauma to his head and body to include a fractured arm.

According to the Tempe police, they had responded to a 911 call at around 5 o’clock in the evening. The call was for a baby that had not been breathing and was located in a mobile home in the 1600 block of East Apache Boulevard. They quickly took the baby to the hospital, however the baby was pronounced dead.

Lt. Pooley stated that Robert was caring for two other young children of his own at the time. Robert is said to have been living with the children in the mobile home. There is no reason to believe that Robert’s own children were abused at this time.  Robert at first told the baby’s mother that he had fell and hit his head earlier that morning… when the baby was found unresponsive that afternoon, he then called his aunt for her help, however according to the police Robert did not want to call the police or fire departments for help.

The actual cause of the young child’s death is still unknown at this time. It’s being investigated while they are waiting for the report from the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office. Robert is wanted for a minor traffic warrant for driving on a suspended license.

Woman Shoots Burglar After Breaking Into Her Home

Woman Defends Herself Against Burglar

Times are hard and people are even rougher these days. Break-ins and violence is on the rise and there’s nothing law enforcement can do about it until it already happens. People need a way to protect themselves from people trying to harm them, so when a widow shoots a man for breaking into her home and threatening her, then I say “Heck Yea!”. No one should be afraid to live in their own home.

Local NEWS was able to hear the 911 recording of the moments from the incident. The widow had to huddle in her bathroom and hide as she was confronted by the burglar. The woman then shot the man who is being charged with breaking into her home. The woman was on the phone with the 911 before, during and after the shooting. She remained on the phone until authorities were able to arrive.

Woman Protects Herself The Right Way

Police investigators say that the forty-seven year old homeowner did everything right. She called 911, armed herself and hide. Just what they would want her to do. On the recording you can hear the whole scary scene play out.  The break in and shooting happened back on May 6th. After twenty year old Michael Lewis stayed in the hospital for a month for his gunshot wound recovery, he was arraigned in June.

Luckily for the widow, her husband wanted her to be safe and taught her how to shoot the .38 caliber handgun. According to the News, on the recording you could hear her yell to the 911 dispatcher that the suspect had beat on her before she shot him.

Michael Lewis didn’t argue the charges. He pleaded guilty to second-degree burglary as well as aggravated assault. He was granted bond and now is waiting for sentencing on September 15th, which is just days away. This will be the first time the burglary victim will see her assaulter since the night of the attempted burglary.  Hopefully this story will inspire other people to take some gun control classes and learn how to protect themselves as well. Or perhaps this might warn other burglars to think twice before trying to rob someone, you never know who might be waiting for you.
