Mother Jailed for Interfering With Son’s Arrest

According to a statement from the local Sheriff’s Office, an Arizona mother was recently jailed for trying to interfere with her son’s arrest. She ended up getting into a fight with one of the County Deputies.

The thirty-seven year old mother, Sanqusia Johnson reportedly confronted the police officials on Saturday at the sheriff’s substation. This was after they arrested her seventeen year old son on suspicion of his involvement with some recent burglaries that happened in the area.

One of the Sheriff Deputies had recognized the teens that matched the description of the teens wanted in the connection with the burglaries. The deputy then stopped the group at 6:15 in the evening on Saturday near Durango and South Sunland Gin Roads. Two of the teens were then taken into custody and then transported to the police substation.

The Mother Reacts to Her Son’s Arrest

Sanqusia Johnson and her forty-two year old boyfriend, Genaire Roberts arrived at the substation and then became confrontational after the police had began to question Johnson’s son. The police was telling him that he would be charged with burglary.

The deputies had to continue questioning Johnson’s son and Sanqusia had to be restrained. According to the Sheriff’s Office, while the Sheriff’s supervisor was trying to get Johnson away from her son she then hit the deputy in the side of the face with her hand.

According to the statement, her boyfriend then grabbed onto her, trying to prevent the Sheriff’s deputy from handcuffing her.

The couple was booked on suspicion of aggravated assault. Roberts was later cited for obstruction of justice but was later released.
