Phoenix Struggles With Murders

Murder in Phoenix

Owning a family business has to be stressful. There’s a lot of hours that goes into a business and as well as a lot of together time that might not be good for some families. No matter what you shouldn’t murder your family. So before starting a venture, you might want to be sure that you all can stand to be around each other, even when things get stressful.

According to the police, five relatives have been found dead. This was due to a suspected murder/suicide in a Phoenix home. Police think that the fight was over the family’s limo business.

The officers say there were three of the brothers, their mother, and one of the men’s wife was all shot to death inside of the home. The police think that one of the brothers, fifty year old Driss Diaeddinn had shot the other four and then turned the gun to himself.

His brothers: thirty-eight year old, Reda Diaeddinn and fifty-six year old, Dodi Fayed were found dead in one area of the house.

The seventy-six year old mother, Kenza Benzakour and his sister in law, twenty-six year old MEriem Ben Yahia were also among those of the dead.

Family Shooting

Luckily his wife, a second female relative and two children managed to get away from the incident unharmed.

According to Sgt. Trent Crump, the victims were in an argument over the family owned business then the shooting began.

The family owns a Phoenix limousine company.

Luckily the suspect’s wife escaped with the two children, a three year old and an infant, and was able to call the police to report the incident. Cops heard the gunshots in the background when the woman was making the call to them.

The officers rushed to the scene and the house stayed barricaded for hours. Witnesses said that they could hear sounds of “muted gunshots” just an hour after the standoff began.

After an hour of waiting, a second female was able to escape the murder scene. She was “distraught” after her escaped and told the authorities that she was hiding in a bathroom.

The family had origins in Morocco so during the HOURS of standoff the police had used a megaphone and was speaking Arabic to try to communicate to anyone that might be alive or the suspect.

The SWAT team didn’t waste any time, they sent in robots to search it before the dogs and officers entered the home.

Police are doing a thorough search to see if the family had a history of domestic violence. Neighbors say that the family as “invisible”.

To do so, a Phoenix Murder Defense Attorney must be prepared to effectively cross-examine the prosecution’s witnesses, including any expert witnesses.

A plea agreement might involve a plea to a lesser offense or an agreement on sentencing that will significantly reduce the penalties you face.

Homicide Defense Strategy

Robberies in Phoenix On the Rise

Reward for Phoenix Robbery Suspect

Yet another robbery has taken place in good ol’ Phoenix. However, this time, if you could help the authorities you could make a little cash. A $1,000 reward is being offered if you have any information that could help the police track down the two men that robbed a Phoenix body shop at gunpoint on January 25th.

Silent Witness have released images of the two men that police say entered the Estrada Body Paint & Auto Repair. The Auto Repair shop is located close to 13th and Washington streets around 12:35 p.m. kind of odd to rob someone at lunch time.

One of the suspected men walked behind the counter and then pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded the money. The other man was the lookout man.

Suspect at Large

Silent Witness says that police are now looking for a Hispanic man. They think that he is around thirty years old and around five foot, nine inches tall. He weighs around two hundred pounds. He also has black hair and brown eyes. They also say he has a beard. At the time he was wearing a black hat and black boots and blue work pants.

The lookout man was described as having a beard and was wearing an Oakland Raiders hoodie. Not much to go on with that one.

If anyone has any information, please call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS. Don’t forget, if you help out you could get a little cash for you trouble!

FBI Searches for Bank Robber

Usually when you think of a robbery you think of a group of guys because that’s what you see in the movies. Well this time, the FBI is asking for the public’s help in finding a woman who is wanted in the connection of multiple bank robberies around the metro Phoenix area in just the last month.

Apparently, Phoenix likes to name their robbery suspects bandit because her name is “SOS Bandit”. Why? because of her “slip on shoes”. She has robbed at least four banks between January 30th and February 16th using the same plan in each of the robberies according to an FBI press release.

The woman entered the banks and acted as if she was just a regular customer however after a few moments that changed. She presented a note to the tellers demanding money, threatening “physical harm” if her demands weren’t met.

The woman is linked to robberies at:

  • Amtrust Bank at 8764 E. Shea Boulevard in Scottsdale on Jan. 30.
  • Amtrust Bank at 2975 W. Ray Road in Chandler on Feb. 11.
  • Bank of America at 8750 E. Raintree Drive in Scottsdale on Feb. 15.
  • JP Morgan Chase at 1744 E. Southern Ave. in Tempe on Feb. 16.

Criminal Defense Cases

Formerly referred to as terroristic threats, the crime of criminal threats may be charged as a misdemeanor or a felony offense, depending on case specifics. A criminal threat occurs when an individual threatens to kill or injure another person and that person has a reasonably sustained fear for his or her safety, or the safety of his or her immediate family. A defendant may potentially be convicted of making criminal threats even if he or she did not intend to carry out the threat, provided that the alleged victim had a reasonable basis to fear for his or her safety.

Arrest in Phoenix for Criminal Threats

If you have been arrested for making a criminal threat, it is critical that you protect your rights by retaining an experienced criminal defense attorney. For a vigorous defense, contact the Law Offices of Criminal Defense Lawyers PLLC immediately.

Arizona prosecutors have considerable discretion to charge criminal threats offenses as a misdemeanor or a felony. If you are convicted of a misdemeanor criminal threat, harassment or stalking offense, you could face up to one year in county jail. If you are convicted of a felony criminal threats offense, you could face up to four years in state prison. You could face significantly greater penalties if you used a firearm or other dangerous weapon while making criminal threats.

Types of Criminal Threats

A Criminal Threat is a strike offense, which means that you could face significantly enhanced penalties if you are convicted of a future felony. Even a nonviolent felony could result in twice the prison sentence if you have a prior strike offense. A third strike could result in a prison sentence of 25 years to life.

Criminal Threats Defensive Strategy

There are many ways that our skilled Phoenix Defense Attorneys can raise a strong defense on your behalf. First, we will examine the facts of the case to determine if the prosecution has enough evidence to obtain a conviction. In particular, we will look at any evidence of the alleged communication. Does the prosecution have copies of an email or voicemail? If the state has nothing more than a he-said-she said case, the prosecution will have a tougher time proving its case.

Taking Your Criminal Threats Case to Trial

Even if the prosecution has evidence of the alleged communication, we will examine the nature of the communication. Was the threat a serious one? In other words, did the alleged victim actually fear for his or her safety and was he or she reasonable to have such fear? The prosecution does not have to prove that you intended to carry out the threat, or even that you had the current ability to carry out the threat. However, the prosecution must establish that the threat you made is the type that would have caused the defendant to have a reasonable fear.

If you choose to take your case to trial, we offer skilled Phoenix trial lawyers who will aggressively defend your rights in the courtroom. If you do not want to fight your charges at trial, we can negotiate with the prosecution to seek a favorable plea agreement. Depending on the facts of your case, we may be able to help you keep this off of your record. If that is not possible, we can seek a plea to a lesser offense, including a non-strike offense, or we can seek an agreement on sentencing that will limit the penalties you face. With a team of former prosecutors, the skilled attorneys at the Phoenix Offices of Criminal Defense Lawyers PLLC are highly adept at finding creative solutions for their clients.

Phoenix Robberies on the Rise

Phoenix Robberies Suspect Arrested

So, in 2017 when you think of a robbery suspect you don’t really think of an old timey alias name. However, it still happens apparently.

Recently a robbery suspect has been dubbed as the “Barrel Chested Bandit”. Talk about something out of a “Gunsmoke” Western. Anyways, the “Barrel Chested Bandit” is wanted for holdups in Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona has finally been arrested. This news came from the FBI office in Dallas.

According to the FBI agents, they arrested fifty year old, Anthony James Lane in Tuscon, Arizona on Tuesday. The name “Barrel Chested Bandit” is kind of a let down, totally though that was a badbutt female name. Kind of like a Annie Oakley or something, apparently not.

Lane was a busy man and wanted for several robberies or attempted robberies at eight different banks ranging from Tuscon, Albuquerque to Amarillo and Longview.

According to the FBI press release, he got his name by brandishing a small handgun in each of the robberies. He would order the teller to give him the money and then flee on foot.

Earlier this month the FBI said that they had offered a $10,000 reward for tips leading to the “Barrel Chested Bandit” arrest. Now he will face a federal bank robbery charge in Arizona.

Phoenix Police Suspect Shooting

Circle K seems to be a popular place to have a shooting in Phoenix because yet another shooting has taken place. According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department they have identified a man that the deputies fatally shot outside of the Circle K on Sunday, as twenty-six year old, Manuel Encinas.

The Deputies responded to an armed robbery call at a local Circle K convenience store. According to the Sheriff’s Department spokesman, the incident happened around two o’clock in the morning when they saw Encinas standing behind the Circle K employee.

The man was holding a gun, forcing the employee out of the store. After they left the store the employee ran or his or her life toward a deputy that was standing south of the building.

During that time, the deputies were able to get a clean shot and were able to shoot and kill Encinas after he had “presented a gun”.

According to further investigation that Encinas was also connected to a previous Tucson homicide so it looks like he will be spending some time in jail. While no further details were given on that situation, this shooting is still being investigated.

Phoenix Police Assault

Phoenix Police Shooting

Police work extremely hard. They risk their lives every day for ours. When a citizen does it for a police man it’s truly touching.

According to reports, a citizen has recently saved the life of a Arizona state trooper by fatally shooting the troopers assailant.

Reports said that Thomas Yoxall was simply driving on remote highway when he saw Trooper Edward Anderson being assaulted by a man. The police later found out the man was a former Mexican Federal police officer, Leonard Pennelas-Escobar. He was in the country illegally.

Apparently Leonard had rolled his car on the interstate right before he randomly attacked officer Andersson. Andersson had innocently stopped to help Leonard. Leonard for what ever reason opened fired on officer Andersson.

Leonard had said something in Spanish before he started shooting the trooper.  Talk about a crazy situation..

Yoxall’s Statement:

It was very visceral and instincitve – I had to help.

That’s great when someone helps like that. Wish more people would help in the world like that.

Phoenix Mother Arrested for Child Abuse

Mother Arrested for Child Abuse in Phoenix

A mother in the Phoenix area has been arrested for the suspicion of abusing her eight year old little girl.

The twenty-nine year old mother, Donielle Joyce King actually admitted to throwing a CD case at her daughter. Which injured the young girls foot in the process.

The daughter told the authorities that her mother or aunt had also hit her. The little girl did have other visible signs of injury.

King then denied hitting her child but was still booked into jail on one count of child abuse.

Another Mother Arrested for Child Abuse

Child abuse, in my opinion, is one of the worst crimes that can be done. There has been new details arise in a case against a twenty-seven year old, Phoenix resident, Alejandrina Angel Flores who has been charged with six counts of child abuse.

According to the court details, the Phoenix Police Department had received a call from Flores’ own sister about a domestic violence situation at Flores’ apartment. The sister said that Flores’ boyfriend was holding a knife in a “threatening way”. However when the police arrived to the scene things were very different.

Phoenix Officer, Anthony Daley was one of the officers on scene. His statement about what happened when he got to the scene is pretty graphic. The apartment was at 37th Avenue and Camelback Road.

Daley and two other officers arrived to the scene just after 9 p.m. According to officer Daley, when Flores opened the door there was an overwhelming odor of “decomposing trash and food” he said that it was very “hard to breath”.

Flores told the police officers that the story about her boyfriend was true.

Daley said that when he arrived he saw six kids in the home, ranging from a few months old, one, two, three, five, and six years old.

Child Abuse Case Found on Scene

Daley describes the horrible condition of the children. He said that the baby was laying on her back on the couch and her diaper was full, appearing not to have been changed in quite some time. The other children in the home were wearing dirty clothes and had not been changed or bathed in several days.

All six of the children were covered in dirt. According to Daley, the one year old was walking around wearing no clothes at all. The poor baby had a diaper rash and a sore on her little butt cheek. There was also feces between the child’s butt cheeks.

Officer Daley was “horrified” by the scene in front of him so he then asked Flores if he would conduct a welfare check in the apartment. Flores agreed to the welfare check.

The six kids shared a bag of gummies while Daley looked through the two bedroom apartment.

Daley’s Written Statement:

When walking on the floor, my shoe would stick, It appeared the floors have no been washed in several weeks [and] were covered in food, trash, and dirt.

Daley even saw a wall outlet with something electrical hanging out of it which was in the living room. In the kitchen he found that the sink faucet running over a large pile of dirty dishes. The refrigerator and freezer was dirty and he even saw cockroach eggs in the corners of the ceiling. How disgusting!

Daley wrote, “There [were] cockroaches walking all over the wall and ceiling in every room.

Those poor children. I feel so sorry that they had to deal with this! In the bathroom of the apartment, he found a nasty toilet which was filled with feces and dirty toilet paper. He also said that the floor was covered in trash as well as soiled diapers. The roaches were so bad that they were crawling out of the shower drain!

In the hallway Daley saw a “unknown yellow liquid puddle”. He asked the oldest child to show him where the child slept, the boy pointed to one of the two bedrooms. Daley then went to see the bedroom. The room had no bad and no light fixtures.

From Meth to Child Abuse San Diego Doesn’t Lack Diversity

Drone Used to Smuggle Meth Near San Diego

People use all sorts of means to try smuggle drugs and other things into the United States. Now a twenty-five year old United States citizen has been charged for using a drone to try to smuggle a little over thirteen pounds of meth from Mexico into the Untied States.

According to the reports, Jorge Edwin Rivera told the police that he was using the drone to smuggle the drugs five or six times since march. Rivera told them that he usually delivered them to a nearby gas station to an accomplice in San Diego. According to the report, he was reportedly going to make around $1,000.

The Border Patrol agents in San Diego said that they actually saw the drone in flight on August 8th. They then were able to track it to Rivera which was around 2,000 yards away from the Mexican border. The police say that the agents found Rivera with the meth in an actual lunch box and a two foot drone hidden in a bush. Talk about a pretty sneaky operation. But, no matter how sneaky you think you are they usually always find ya.

In a recent report from the United States Drug Enforcement Administration said that drones aren’t usually used to smuggle drugs from Mexico due to the fact that they can only carry small loads of items. However, once the word gets out this way of transportation might become more and more common.

The trend started in 2015 when two people in California pleaded guilty for dropping twenty-eight pounds of heroin from a drone.

Drone’s are pretty noisey so police think that the drug smugglers will hopefully stay away from this means off  transportation as way to smuggle things. Plus the batter life of a drone isn’t that long, which could be pretty problematic when trying to hide from the police. The small loads also means small payloads, the risk isn’t worth the reward.

Child Suffered From Severe Child Abuse in San Diego

Child abuse in any form is unforgivable. To think of someone harming a child is so mind boggling, but it happens. Daily.

Sadly, a poor child had to suffer from severe injuries day before succumbing to those injuries which included: extensive brain bleed, broken arm, and a burn to the bottom of her foot. How the heck does a toddler get this injured?

The eighteen month old little girl was named, Leah Brown-Meza. She died from the blunt force of the trauma, according to the Medical Examiner’s reports.

According to the police, the mother, Lillie Brown had reported that she woke up to find her young toddler unresponsive and then called for help.

Lillie Brown is a twenty-one year old woman and a member of the Viejas tribe. She’s now going to face her young life behind bars, with three counts of willful cruelty to a child with great bodily injury and/or death.

Lillie’s boyfriend, twenty-six year old, Kevin Foster, will also face similar charges. He will face charges of murder, assault on a child with force likely to produce great bodily harm or death. He however was ordered to be held on a $2 million bail. Guess he won’t be sneaking off anytime soon.

According to the reports, the little girl had sadly suffered from at least three different injuries. How can someone hurt that innocent child? Poor baby girl.

The autopsy showed that there were several face and scalp bruises, abrasions and extensive and acute brain bleeding in several different parts of her little brain. Pretty much a hopeless waiting game at this point for the innocent little girl.

The report also showed that she suffered from “retinal and optic nerve hemorrhages” as well as other major damage to her central nervous system. As if that wasn’t enough for the little thing, she had blunt force trauma injuries to her back and chest. She even had second degree burns on the bottom of her foot, and a broken upper arm.
