Phoenix Mother Arrested for Child Abuse

Mother Arrested for Child Abuse in Phoenix

A mother in the Phoenix area has been arrested for the suspicion of abusing her eight year old little girl.

The twenty-nine year old mother, Donielle Joyce King actually admitted to throwing a CD case at her daughter. Which injured the young girls foot in the process.

The daughter told the authorities that her mother or aunt had also hit her. The little girl did have other visible signs of injury.

King then denied hitting her child but was still booked into jail on one count of child abuse.

Another Mother Arrested for Child Abuse

Child abuse, in my opinion, is one of the worst crimes that can be done. There has been new details arise in a case against a twenty-seven year old, Phoenix resident, Alejandrina Angel Flores who has been charged with six counts of child abuse.

According to the court details, the Phoenix Police Department had received a call from Flores’ own sister about a domestic violence situation at Flores’ apartment. The sister said that Flores’ boyfriend was holding a knife in a “threatening way”. However when the police arrived to the scene things were very different.

Phoenix Officer, Anthony Daley was one of the officers on scene. His statement about what happened when he got to the scene is pretty graphic. The apartment was at 37th Avenue and Camelback Road.

Daley and two other officers arrived to the scene just after 9 p.m. According to officer Daley, when Flores opened the door there was an overwhelming odor of “decomposing trash and food” he said that it was very “hard to breath”.

Flores told the police officers that the story about her boyfriend was true.

Daley said that when he arrived he saw six kids in the home, ranging from a few months old, one, two, three, five, and six years old.

Child Abuse Case Found on Scene

Daley describes the horrible condition of the children. He said that the baby was laying on her back on the couch and her diaper was full, appearing not to have been changed in quite some time. The other children in the home were wearing dirty clothes and had not been changed or bathed in several days.

All six of the children were covered in dirt. According to Daley, the one year old was walking around wearing no clothes at all. The poor baby had a diaper rash and a sore on her little butt cheek. There was also feces between the child’s butt cheeks.

Officer Daley was “horrified” by the scene in front of him so he then asked Flores if he would conduct a welfare check in the apartment. Flores agreed to the welfare check.

The six kids shared a bag of gummies while Daley looked through the two bedroom apartment.

Daley’s Written Statement:

When walking on the floor, my shoe would stick, It appeared the floors have no been washed in several weeks [and] were covered in food, trash, and dirt.

Daley even saw a wall outlet with something electrical hanging out of it which was in the living room. In the kitchen he found that the sink faucet running over a large pile of dirty dishes. The refrigerator and freezer was dirty and he even saw cockroach eggs in the corners of the ceiling. How disgusting!

Daley wrote, “There [were] cockroaches walking all over the wall and ceiling in every room.

Those poor children. I feel so sorry that they had to deal with this! In the bathroom of the apartment, he found a nasty toilet which was filled with feces and dirty toilet paper. He also said that the floor was covered in trash as well as soiled diapers. The roaches were so bad that they were crawling out of the shower drain!

In the hallway Daley saw a “unknown yellow liquid puddle”. He asked the oldest child to show him where the child slept, the boy pointed to one of the two bedrooms. Daley then went to see the bedroom. The room had no bad and no light fixtures.

Daley’s Statement:

From Meth to Child Abuse San Diego Doesn’t Lack Diversity

Drone Used to Smuggle Meth Near San Diego

People use all sorts of means to try smuggle drugs and other things into the United States. Now a twenty-five year old United States citizen has been charged for using a drone to try to smuggle a little over thirteen pounds of meth from Mexico into the Untied States.

According to the reports, Jorge Edwin Rivera told the police that he was using the drone to smuggle the drugs five or six times since march. Rivera told them that he usually delivered them to a nearby gas station to an accomplice in San Diego. According to the report, he was reportedly going to make around $1,000.

The Border Patrol agents in San Diego said that they actually saw the drone in flight on August 8th. They then were able to track it to Rivera which was around 2,000 yards away from the Mexican border. The police say that the agents found Rivera with the meth in an actual lunch box and a two foot drone hidden in a bush. Talk about a pretty sneaky operation. But, no matter how sneaky you think you are they usually always find ya.

In a recent report from the United States Drug Enforcement Administration said that drones aren’t usually used to smuggle drugs from Mexico due to the fact that they can only carry small loads of items. However, once the word gets out this way of transportation might become more and more common.

The trend started in 2015 when two people in California pleaded guilty for dropping twenty-eight pounds of heroin from a drone.

Drone’s are pretty noisey so police think that the drug smugglers will hopefully stay away from this means off  transportation as way to smuggle things. Plus the batter life of a drone isn’t that long, which could be pretty problematic when trying to hide from the police. The small loads also means small payloads, the risk isn’t worth the reward.

Child Suffered From Severe Child Abuse in San Diego

Child abuse in any form is unforgivable. To think of someone harming a child is so mind boggling, but it happens. Daily.

Sadly, a poor child had to suffer from severe injuries day before succumbing to those injuries which included: extensive brain bleed, broken arm, and a burn to the bottom of her foot. How the heck does a toddler get this injured?

The eighteen month old little girl was named, Leah Brown-Meza. She died from the blunt force of the trauma, according to the Medical Examiner’s reports.

According to the police, the mother, Lillie Brown had reported that she woke up to find her young toddler unresponsive and then called for help.

Lillie Brown is a twenty-one year old woman and a member of the Viejas tribe. She’s now going to face her young life behind bars, with three counts of willful cruelty to a child with great bodily injury and/or death.

Lillie’s boyfriend, twenty-six year old, Kevin Foster, will also face similar charges. He will face charges of murder, assault on a child with force likely to produce great bodily harm or death. He however was ordered to be held on a $2 million bail. Guess he won’t be sneaking off anytime soon.

According to the reports, the little girl had sadly suffered from at least three different injuries. How can someone hurt that innocent child? Poor baby girl.

The autopsy showed that there were several face and scalp bruises, abrasions and extensive and acute brain bleeding in several different parts of her little brain. Pretty much a hopeless waiting game at this point for the innocent little girl.

The report also showed that she suffered from “retinal and optic nerve hemorrhages” as well as other major damage to her central nervous system. As if that wasn’t enough for the little thing, she had blunt force trauma injuries to her back and chest. She even had second degree burns on the bottom of her foot, and a broken upper arm.

Murder Charges and Investigation

New York Woman Facing Murder Charges

Most the time when you hear or think about a murder, you think of how awful it is. You’re always expecting the worse like someone got stabbed or shot. This case however, is very gruesome.

A woman from New York City, is now facing murder charges after the police found a pregnant mother’s baby cut from her womb. Talk about a painful way to go.

The woman, Ashleigh Wade is only twenty-two years old and she’s being charged with murder as well as: criminal possession of a weapon and several other charges. The New York Times reports that her charges are all related to the stabbing death of Angelikque Sutton.

According to the authorities, Ashleigh had been telling people for month that she was expecting a baby. She would even post a baby registry and due date online. However, Ashleigh was never pregnant, according to the investigators.

Ashleigh Wade was reportedly friends with Angelikque Sutton back in Elementary School, the two had reportedly reconnected just before Wade invited Sutton to her apartment. The police found Sutton’s body at the apartment as well as Wade being there.

When the police first got to the scene, Ashleigh claimed that the newborn baby was hers. However, she later changed her story and claimed that she stabbed Sutton in self-defense. Ashleigh also told the police that she cut out Sutton’s unborn child to save the baby.

The local neighbors told the local NEWS that deceased Sutton would have been a great mother if she would have had the chance.

Neighbor Monica Keller’s Statement:

She would have been the best possible mother to that baby. Devoted to that baby, making sure that baby had everything it needs.

Luckily the poor defenseless baby survived, sadly his or her mother didn’t. The baby is reported to be in good health.

Fatal Stabbing near Oceanside City Beach

Police are on the hunt for a suspect who fatally stabbed a thirty-two year old man near Oceanside City Beach. They are even asking for the public’s help in finding the suspect.

The victim that was later identified as Joseph Prince, was at first thought to have been hit by a vehicle along the Wisconsin Street area. The responding officers quickly found out that this wasn’t a routine pedestrian vs. vehicle situation.

When the officers got to the scene, they found Mr. Prince lying unconscious in the roadway and suffering from stab wounds. It happened on a Thursday around 3:45 p.m. according to Oceanside Police Lt. Leonard Cosby. The officers also reported that Prince sadly died at the scene of the incident.

According to a local media outlet, Mr. Prince had became a part of a brief altercation with the suspect and then was stabbed with a screwdriver. However, it’s unclear what the fight was about at this time.

Local witnesses also told the police that a possible suspect had left the area and was riding on a black beach cruiser bicycle. The suspect was described as a while male, around his thirties in age and was wear a red baseball cap and blue jeans.

If anyone has any information about this incident or the suspect, please call the police at (760) 435-4428.

Phoenix Manslaughter Lawyer

At the Phoenix based Offices of Criminal Defense Lawyers PLLC, we have defended many clients charged with a violent crime, including murder charges and other high-level violent crimes. We can provide the strong defense you need if you have been charged with voluntary manslaughter or involuntary manslaughter.

If you discovered your spouse in bed with a lover and as a result killed your spouse in a sudden rage, you may have been charged with first-degree murder. However, you may only be guilty of voluntary manslaughter, an offense that carries a maximum prison sentence of 11 years, as opposed to a life sentence.

Manslaughter is defined as the unlawful killing of a human being without malice. The term malice is used in a highly technical sense and does not simply imply a feeling of anger.

Types of Manslaughter Defenses

If you have been charged with murder and the evidence is stacked against you to show that you did unlawfully kill another person, seeking a conviction to the lesser charge of voluntary manslaughter may make a significant difference in your case.

To effectively raise such a defense, you must be able to establish that you were provoked, that a reasonable person in such a situation might be similarly provoked to kill, and that you did not have sufficient time to cool off and further contemplate your actions. If retained as your counsel, we will thoroughly investigate the facts of your case to determine which defense strategy gives you the best opportunity to protect your freedom.

Types of Manslaughter Cases in Phoenix

In the state of Arizona, you may be charged with involuntary manslaughter under two separate circumstances:

  • If you committed a crime (other than a felony) and unintentionally caused the

death of another person.

  • If you were engaged in a lawful act that might cause death and acted without

“due caution and circumspection.”

Manslaughter Conviction and Sentencing

A conviction for involuntary manslaughter carries a maximum sentence of four years imprisonment. If you caused the unintentional death of another person and you were not committing a crime, it is not sufficient for the prosecution to allege that you made a mistake. The phrase “without due cause and circumspection” implies something more than a simple mistake. Our Phoenix Attorneys can raise a number of issues and defenses on your behalf to raise the strong defense you need. A plea to a lesser offense or a plea that allows you to avoid a criminal conviction may be possible depending on the facts of your case. If you choose to fight your charges at trial, we have the skilled trial lawyers to aggressively defend your rights in the courtroom.

Police Get Involved in Phoenix Shooting

Man Shot By Two Phoenix Police Officers

When a police situation turns scary who do you call? On Wednesday night a thirty-two year old man was shot by two Phoenix police officers. However, the man later admitted to charging at the officers with a knife because he actually wanted to shoot them.

The Phoenix Police Sgt. Vince Lewis said that the man was actually part of a domestic violence case. He was carrying a large kitchen knife when he ran towards the officers. That’s when the police did, what they believed was their only choice and opened fire at the man.

Sgt. Lewis’ Statement:

The family reported that the suspect has a mental illness and was consuming alcohol during the evening. The suspect later told police that he charged at the officers to force them into shooting him.

According to the reports, the shooting happened just before 7:30 in the evening.  The police had to be called for a domestic disturbance abuse call. The police said that the call involved an adult man who was mad and threatening to kill his mother and stepfather. What a horrible thing, just because you’re mad at someone, you can’t just decide to kill them.

When the officers arrived to the scene they found a man chasing his own stepfather with a knife.

The officers told the man to drop his knife, however he continued toward them. That is when the officers had to start firing at him.

Sgt. Lewis’ Statement:

Fearing for their lives, and that of the stepfather who was hiding behind police, both officers fired their service weapons, striking the suspect who then dropped the knife, thus ending the violent threat.

According to a neighbor, David Rice, the man had chased his stepfather down the street. They got into a confrontation about a block from in front of Mr. Rice’s home.

Apparently the man has schizophrenia and the mother was running down the street to tell the police that.

The suspect, had to be taken to the hospital. He was in “very critical condition”. As of Thursday, he was still in the hospital.

Rice said that the suspect was well known in his neighborhood. The neighbors say that he is usually a pleasant man and is quite often seen riding his bicycle. Rice said that he’s never seen anything before that would make him believe that the young man would turn violent.

Sgt. Lewis said that the two officers who shot at the suspect were: a forty-five year old man who served for 15 years as an officer and the other was a thirty-three year old man with nine years experience as an officer.

At the Law Offices of Criminal Defense Lawyers PLLC, we are committed to helping you achieve a resolution to your immediate problems, while seeking opportunities to improve the troubled family dynamics that might be underlying factors.

Sexual Assault Crimes

Man Sexually Abuses Young Women

How can sex offenders go under the radar for so long? Does neighbors or someone not find them suspicious? Maybe not. However, in some cases people do notice and they call the authorities.

A man has allegedly been sexually abusing a group of underage girls in Coolidge over a twenty year period. The witnesses have luckily began testifying in the trial for their attacker.

The suspect, Robert Molina’s victims said that the fifty-eight year old man would molest her when she was only twelve years old.

Another witness said that she woke up on night to find Molina fondling her. There will be seven brave young women testifying against Molina. The crimes started in the 1990’s.

Molina has been charged with six counts of child molestation as well as three counts of sexual conduct with a minor and three counts of sexual abuse.

The charges have been classified as, “dangerous crimes against children”. Luckily those cases usually have stricter and tougher penalties.

Police Arrest Sexual Assault Suspect

The prosecutor for this case, David Ahl said that Molina used his hand to sexually gratify himself and to repeatedly violate his victims. He did however, accuse the defendant saying that he put his hands down the children’s pants to touch them inappropriately while they slept.

Opening arguments got straight to the point, the prosecutors told the jury not to believe any suggestions that the victims were working as a “conspiracy”.

There was another witness to testify, she didn’t immediately report the abuse due to the fact that she was scared and embarrassed which isn’t uncommon for a case like this.

Molina has pleaded not guilty to all of the other charges. They’re claiming that the stories don’t “corroborate” with one another. He thinks that there is reasonable doubt involved.

I have a feeling this will not be a long trial. There’s too many witnesses against this man and evidence. However, with the right defense lawyer anything can happen.

Man Charges With Killing Grandmother Over House Rules

A man pleaded guilty for killing his grandmother last year. He brutally beat her with a shovel and then slit her throat. All of this because of some strict house rules which were curfew rules and how much he had to pay her for rent.

Apparently the man has a violent past. According to the Maricopa County Prosecutors, Jason Eric Howell had also pleaded guilty to child abuse as well as aggravated assault charges for another case he was involved in. The sentencing for that will be this coming July 1st.

Forty year old Jason Howell, was at first charged with “first degree murder, attempted first degree murder, hindering prosecution, and abandoning a body”.

The court records show that Jason had told the police that he had first tried to kill his grandmother, Helen Jean Lee who was seventy-eight years old, in her sleep. However he stopped when she woke up.

Not but a couple days later, Jason then attacked his grandmother with a shovel. He then violently slit her throat. Afterwards he disposed of her body in the desert.

Later, Jason led the investigators straight to his grandmother’s corpse.

Jason’s Grandmother was Missing for Days

Someone had reported the elderly woman missing just days before they found the body. When they went to the grandmother’s home they found a “bloody crime scene” inside of the house.

The police were not strangers to Jason’s home, they had been out on a few calls there before for Jason had hallucinations and “erratic behavior and violent tendencies” that the police had to respond to.

On the same day that his grandmother was reported missing, Jason was arrested on several charges which include: assaulting a police officer as well as kidnapping.
