Two Men Arrested For Kidnapping and Assaulting a Woman

Woman Kidnapped and Assaulted from Tempe Bar

Two men in the Buckeye area have now been arrested for allegedly kidnapping and violently assaulting a woman earlier in the month. The Buckeye Police Department says that the female victim had been out drinking at a local bar in Tempe on November 14th. She then claims she woke up in the desert near the Interstate 10 and Watson Road.

The woman said that she does not remember how she got out to the desert or even leaving the bar that night. However, her friends witnessed two men talking to her that night and her then getting into a white car. The friends tried to call the female victim but she would not answer her phone.

Buckeye Police Press Release Statement:

The victim was brutally attacked, both physically and sexually.

A tracking device that was on the victim’s phone was able to lead the police to a home in Buckeye. The police investigators got to the scene and was able to arrest twenty-four year old Damian Hernandez as well as twenty-two year old, Esai Leon on November 28th. They were booked into jail on charges of “sexual assault, kidnapping, aggravated assault, and tampering with evidence”.

Commander Mark Mann from the Buckeye Police Department Statement:

These guys are predators, they target women. They brutally and violent beat them and left them alone in the desert.

The police say that the suspects even admitted that they were in Tempe, however they “pointed the finger” at each other when it came to who assaulted the woman. The police also said that one of the suspects had thrown her boots and cell phone out the window of their car after they had assaulted her.

Neighbor to the Suspects, Dustin Scheas Statment:

I’m appalled. Coming from a man who has sisters, has a daughter. What he did was to someone’s daughter, and it’s disgusting. They have no respect for life clearly.

Police served search warrants to both of the suspects homes on Wednesday. They were hoping to find some evidence to link them to some similar cases around the area.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Buckeye Police Department at 623-349-6400.

Pot Dispensary Shut Down For No License

Pot Dispensary in Phoenix Closed Down for No Dispensary License

According to a Phoenix Police spokesman, a Phoenix pot dispensary has been shut down for lack of a dispensary license.

Sgt. Tommy Thompson, Phoenix spokesman, said that the investigators served a search warrant at the Green Thumb Academy. The store was at Seventh Street and Virginia. The search brought the detectives to finding six and a half pounds of high-grade marijuana.

Sgt. Thompson said that the police Drug Enforcement Bureau had been getting complaints from dispensaries that actually had a license about The Green Thumb Academy. The complaints claimed that The Green Thumb Academy was illegally posing as an authorized dispensary. That is what started the investigation that lasted several months.

Drug Enforcement Bureau officer, Lt. Darren Vine, said that the employees left the scene as soon as the police squads showed up that Thursday at the dispensary. After the authorities arrived inside, the manager of The Green Thumb was “less than forthcoming” with any information about the illegal dispensary.

At first the investigators didn’t know who truly knew about the “business” or not. They “employees” were called “volunteers”. According to Lt. Vine after the illegal business opened they started getting complaints about The Green Thumb taking business from legal dispensaries.

Lt. Vine Wasn’t Surprised by the Illegal Dispensary

Unfortunately we have operations like this that operate illegally.

Sgt. Thompson said that usually  in these type of cases they do not “go after” the customers, because the “business” is at fault and responsible for it. He also said that the illegal dispensary asked the customers to make a cash “donation” for the marijuana. The amount that they business requested is close to the same amount as on the street.

The illegal business showed all the signs of being a true, legal medical marijuana dispensary. However inside of the the store there was no liscense to be found. Police are still searching the premise and continuing their investigation.

Or maybe you’re having a fun night with someone dancing and then a jealous ex or current boyfriend or girlfriend come in and see the situation and then things get really crazy.

Drug Traffickers Found a New Way to Smuggle Meth

Drug Traffickers Found a Way to Make Meth Liquid

The Police authorities say that drug traffickers now days are getting creative. They have found a way to disguise methamphetamine as a liquid so that they can smuggle it into the United States from Mexico.

They now seal the meth in Tequila bottles or plastic detergent containers so they can fool the border agents and the traffic officers. Once they arrive deep inside of the California’s Central Valley, which is a national distribution hub, the meth then cooks and convert into crystals…which happens to be the most sought-after form on the street.

Mike Prado with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigation’s Fresno unit said that the conversion labs are popping up all over the neighborhoods. As the result of a lab that had caused a house in the Fresno area to explode just two years ago. The explosion rattled the neighbors nerves.

Meth Labs are Creating Numerous Problems

Mike said that the labs are pretty dangerous due to the fact that they are hidden away and most cases are in densely populated apartment buildings and foreclosed homes in quiet neighborhoods. Most neighborhoods are family areas where the children could be playing in the street.

Mexican Man Sentenced for Drug Trafficking

Forty Year Old Sentenced for Drug Trafficking

On Monday, A forty year old Mexican man was sentenced for a growing crime of drug trafficking. He was sentenced to seventeen and a half years in the Arizona Federal Prison for the Drug Trafficking crime. It seems like a harsher punishment is hopefully so others will see how wrong this is and spook them into quitting.

According to the Federal Prosecutors, The Mexican man’s name is Luis Enrique Villegas-Lugo. Back in February, Luis Enrique Villegas-Luga pleaded guilty to “conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine”. I guess one good thing is he didn’t fight the charges, but usually pleading guilty gets you a slight lesser sentence.

Drug Trafficking Investigation

The police authorities say that the organization that operated this drug trafficking was originally investigated from July 2006 to September 2006 over the Phoenix area. The ring of drug traffickers allegedly imported methamphetamine from Mexico and then transported it to a stash house that was located in Phoenix. The drugs were then distributed to the waiting customers.

Police Seized Meth, Guns, and Drug Packaging Materials

During the investigation the investigating police law enforcement agents seized almost twenty pounds of meth as well as two handguns, two rifles, as well as some drug packaging materials from the stash house in Phoenix. Luis Enrique Villegas-Lugo was actually charged for the drug trafficking back in February of 2009. He is just now getting his sentencing which he got seventeen and a half years. The court probably allowed him the 5 years he already served to be taken off making him have twelve and a half more years to serve.

Arizona Lawmaker Makes Proposal to Legalize Marijuana

Arizona Lawmaker Making Plans to Legalize Marijuana

Marijuana has been a hot topic since President Obama won the election. Arizona lawmaker has decided to make plans for a proposal. What kind of proposal? One to legalize the recreational use of marijuana. When is this happening? Well he’s making plans to introduce a proposal next year. This is before a similar proposal could get decided by voters which would be in 2016.

The Arizona Capitol Times Report:

Republican Rep. Ethan Orr of Tucson plans to make the case to fellow conservatives that a voter-approved measure is nearly impossible to change once it is approved and not the way to set up a complicated regulation and taxation system for the drug.

Legalizing Marijuana has been a heated subject for a long time. People believe legalizing marijuana is the “beginning” of the end. I think that’s crazy talk. Let’s legalize it and gay marriage and move on. Everyone has a right to live the way they want to, as long as it’s not hurting anyone else with however you choose to live your life. Advocates for legalizing marijuana for recreational use are wanting to put their proposal on the Arizona ballot in 2016. Looks like they might not have to if this new bill gets passed.

Voters have been very loud with their opinions, whether you are for it or against it it’s been very clear that the majority of voters have approved the use of marijuana to treat chronic pain, cancer, as well as other medical conditions. It’s been ok for medical use, so why not recreational use?

However, Republican Represent-or Bob Thorpe. Bob is for Flagstaff area and he is pretty concerned about what he has been hearing about Colorado’s legalization experiment.
