Man and Woman Arrested for Involvement of Body Found in Canal

Couple Linked to Found Body in Peoria Canal

Talk about the world becoming a violent place. As if murder isn’t bad enough, it seems like it’s becoming more and more popular. More people are joining in on the killing and crime. A man and woman have now been arrested for being linked to a death of man. The man’s body was found in a Peoria Canal. The body was found sometime last week. Seem’s like whatever happened, it was a man and woman couple that had a role in the canal man’s death.

Police Link Couple to Found Body in Canal

According to a Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Detective, they have found some evidence that would link the man and woman to the body they found floating. The man, forty-one year old Nathan Perez and the woman, Forty year old Billian Jean are husband and wife. The body of the floating victim turned out to be thirty-five year old Rolland Tockey.

A bicyclist reported finding Mr. Tockey’s body on Wednesday in the Canal. This was August twentieth and was near the 71st Avenue and Greenway Road.  At first the police from the Peoria police department were there to respond to the call, however the investigation was turned over to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO).

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office stated that the investigation led the investigating officers to a home which was near 67th and Olive Avenues. From there they found even more evidence, proving that the man and woman were most likely guilty in some part of the Canal man’s death.

Nathan Perez is in pretty deep trouble, seems like he’s the main suspect in this case. He is being held on $750,000 bond for “suspicion of first degree murder and concealing a dead body”. His wife, Billie Jean however is no longer in custody, she was released from prison. At first she was arrested as well as booked on charges of ” hindering prosecution”.

15 Year Old Arrested for Killing Detention Officer

Detention Officer Killed by 15 Year Old

According to the authorities, a Maricopa County Detention Officer was shot at random while he was in his own drive-way by a fifteen year old boy. The Fifteen year old has been arrested for killing the officer.

The Police Chief, Daniel Garcia stated that on Wednesday the fifteen year old would be charged as an adult for first-degree murder for the shooting of twenty-seven year old Jorge Vargas. The investigators have worked extra hard and hours to hopefully help bring closure for the victim’s family.

Police Work to Bring Closure for Officer’s Family

This arrest is the first step in that closure. We owe Jorge that.

Chief Garcia said that the suspect was a gang member wannabe. That is how the young man got the gun to begin with. However, the police believe that Officer Vargas was shot at random and that the teen had acted alone in this brutal act.

According to the report, Officer Vargas was attacked on August 8th at around four in the morning. He was working on his vehicle outside of his home at the time. The police were able to identify him quickly since he had his Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office employee uniform on.

Police are unsure of what happened for sure in the driveway on that early morning. According to the police, the fifteen year old had just left a party at around three in the morning. He was under the influence of drug and alcohol at the time.

The fifteen year old, whose name cannot be released due to his age, had been in the Maricopa County Jail. He is going to face an aggravated assault charge for an unrelated drive by shooting.

Officer Arpaio’s statement

I’m concerned whether the assailant knew our officer was an officer. It’s tough to convince me he didn’t know. Maybe one day, we’ll get a motive from this suspect.

The teens mother and friend have also been arrested. Cathy Seymour, the teen’s mother, is expected to be charged with “hindering prosecution of her son”. His friend, Ivan Montes who is 20 years old, was booked for “hindering prosecution and disorderly conduct”. They are boy in trouble for trying to get rid of the evidence, which would help the teen avoid detection from the police.
The police haven’t been able to find the gun that the teen used in the shooting, however they were able to use the shell casing at the scene to tie the teen to the shooting.

Group of Bicyclists Injured in Hit-and-Run Incident

Multiple Injuries in Group Bicyclists Hit-and-Run Incident

On Saturday night a group of bicyclists were injured after a hit-and-run accident. There is now an investigation about the incident through the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

The MCSO stated that there were three bicyclists that were walking their bikes on a dirt shoulder of 115th Avenue when they were hit by a vehicle around ten o’clock that evening.

The victims were identified as Cam Nelson, Lance Taylor, and Cam’s six year old son. Cam was air-lifted to a local hospital for his life-threatening injuries. Cam’s son and Lance were also taken to the hospital, treated then later released.

The vehicle that hit the three people was described as a new Chevrolet or GMC pickup truck. That truck did not stop after he/she hit the bicyclists. The truck immediately fled the scene. There are no descriptions of the suspect inside of the vehicle as of this time, there is also no license plate number known.

According to the report, the incident had caused some damage to the passenger side of the pickup. The truck reportedly has a broken right headlight and turn-signal assembly. There is some speculation  that the right side of the hood, right grill, and or bumper might also be damaged.
