Teenage Girl Starts Attacking Police Officer

Teenage Girl Kicks and Punches Officer

Two witnesses came forth and backed the Mesa Police Officer about an account that a fifteen year old girl who was emotionally upset, kicked an officer and then punched the Officer before the officer finally returned the blows as she worked to handcuff the teen.

The teenage girl’s mother was the one to originally called the police for help. She told the police that the officer had punched her daughter without any provoking. A couple who recorded part of the incident aired the video to YouTube to show “police brutality”.

However, the 15 year old teenager admitted to the authorities that she had punched the officer and kicked her in the leg, and that she also refused the officer’s demands to stop. The hits by the officer only happened after the officer had grabbed the teenage girl’s wrist, trying to get her to stop.

Teenage Girl Admits She Provoked The Officer

At least the girl didn’t lie, she admitted in her statement that she was “resisting” the officer’s demands. She kicked the Officer because the Officer was “hurting her”. She even admitted to punching the officer as well as the officer punching her back two times. The teenage girl said that she sometimes gets upset due to her depression. When she gets mad she can’t control what she says or does, according to her.

In the Officer’s written statement, she reported that the girl had told her to “leave me alone” when she had tried to get the teenager to stop walking. The female officer said that the girl then kicked her in the thigh and that is when the officer grabbed her arm. The girl then punched the officer with her free arm in the temple, knocking off the officer’s glasses.

A Mesa Police Spokesman, Detective Steve Flores said that the incident will be investigated. The department wants to make sure that the officer’s level of force was justified. The officer did have a welt on her face from being punched by the teenage girl.

When the Phoenix Officers arrived to the scene they found the thirty-five year old man, Aristeo Saliz, in the front yard of a home. There was also a forty-year old female victim there as well. According to the police, Saliz ran into the home as soon as he saw the officers.

Man Identifies Man Killed in Police Officer Shooting

Police Investigate Mans Death Involved with Officer Shooting

On Tuesday the police were able to identify a man who was killed in an officer involved shooting. The shooting happened around six o’clock in the evening, near 25th Avenue and Greenway Road at an apartment complex.

The Phoenix Police stated that the officer who was involved in the complex related shooting was actually at an unrelated call when he got another call about a drug deal happening nearby in an alleged Cadillac Escalade. The police say that when the officer approached the Escalade there were two men inside. The driver of the vehicle (thirty-four year old, Rumain Brisbon) got out of the vehicle and then went into the backseat of the SUV. Then he proceeded to remove something.

Officer Investigates Drug Call Before Shooting Starts

The officer then gave the driver several commands to show whatever was in his hands before he put one or maybe both of his hands near his waistband. That is when the officer drew his weapon and flashed the suspect with the flashlight.

Of course the suspect decides to run to a corridor towards the nearby apartments. The officer chased the male suspect. The officer finally catches up to the suspect and tried to detain him. The officer orders Brisbon to the ground but of course Brisbon didn’t listen. Witness say that the suspect began yelling obscenities at the officer and wouldn’t listen to the officer’s commands. The officer approached Brisbon and Brisbon again put his hand in his pocket. The officer warned Brisbon to keep his hand in his pocket. The officer believed that he had felt a handle of a gun in the suspects pocket so he tried to keep his hand there.

The suspect again refused to listen to the officer. What the officer actually found in the man’s pocket was a bottle of pills. There was a struggle at the apartments then that is when the officer shot after he had felt threatened. The officers immediately rushed to the victim and tried to save him by doing CPR. Firefighters came to the scene and pronounced Brisbon dead.

No officers were injured at the scene. The officer who had shot Brisbon was a thirty year old male who is a seven year veteran of the department.

Witness Statement:

I was right there on the street walking to that side when everything started going on, so that’s when I heard, saw everything, and they’re trying to give him CPR, and all that stuff, and I guess he didn’t make it.

Phoenix Police Investigating Body Found in Suitcase

Body Found in a Suitcase Causes Police Investigation

On Thursday, the Phoenix Police Department started an investigation for a body that was found inside of a suitcase.  The homicide detectives came to the scene which was in the area of 16th Street and Bell Road. Sgt. Jonathan Howard said that this was after some restaurant workers found the body inside of the suitcase.

Police Investigate and Find Adult Body in Suitcase

Sgt. Howard stated that the homicide detectives were able to open up the suitcase enough to know that the body is probably the body of an adult. He also said that the Maricopa County Medical Examiner had picked up the suitcase and would be performing an autopsy.

The body was found outside of the “The Codfather” restaurant, owned by Mark Briner. Mr. Briner said that his employee had went to throw out the trash and found the suitcase around ten, thirty in the morning.

Mr.Briner’s Statement

She went to lift it and it was kind of heavy and then she undone it and obviously found a body in there.

The worker at the restaurant told Mr.Briner’s wife then told him as well about what she found. Mr. Briner then went outside to check for himself and then called the police.

Sgt. Howard’s Statement:

It’s scary. It’s sad that somebody has the ability to take a human being and maybe stuff them into a suitcase and leave them next to a dumpster.

At this time the case is being treated as a homicide. The police are investigating and looking into the surveillance video from the restaurant to hopefully be able to learn some more information about who might have done this. If anyone has any information about this, please contact the police or Silent Witness.

Two Men Arrested For Kidnapping and Assaulting a Woman

Woman Kidnapped and Assaulted from Tempe Bar

Two men in the Buckeye area have now been arrested for allegedly kidnapping and violently assaulting a woman earlier in the month. The Buckeye Police Department says that the female victim had been out drinking at a local bar in Tempe on November 14th. She then claims she woke up in the desert near the Interstate 10 and Watson Road.

The woman said that she does not remember how she got out to the desert or even leaving the bar that night. However, her friends witnessed two men talking to her that night and her then getting into a white car. The friends tried to call the female victim but she would not answer her phone.

Buckeye Police Press Release Statement:

The victim was brutally attacked, both physically and sexually.

A tracking device that was on the victim’s phone was able to lead the police to a home in Buckeye. The police investigators got to the scene and was able to arrest twenty-four year old Damian Hernandez as well as twenty-two year old, Esai Leon on November 28th. They were booked into jail on charges of “sexual assault, kidnapping, aggravated assault, and tampering with evidence”.

Commander Mark Mann from the Buckeye Police Department Statement:

These guys are predators, they target women. They brutally and violent beat them and left them alone in the desert.

The police say that the suspects even admitted that they were in Tempe, however they “pointed the finger” at each other when it came to who assaulted the woman. The police also said that one of the suspects had thrown her boots and cell phone out the window of their car after they had assaulted her.

Neighbor to the Suspects, Dustin Scheas Statment:

I’m appalled. Coming from a man who has sisters, has a daughter. What he did was to someone’s daughter, and it’s disgusting. They have no respect for life clearly.

Police served search warrants to both of the suspects homes on Wednesday. They were hoping to find some evidence to link them to some similar cases around the area.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Buckeye Police Department at 623-349-6400.
